Have you found a feline friend to bring to your home? Fantastic! Here's what you need to do to get the adoption
process started:
- Call the Seattle Animal Shelter Foster care at 206-615-0737 and let us know who (cat name and ID) you
are interested in potentially adopting.
- The foster cat staff will contact you and discuss your situation and help figure out the best cat/kitten for your home
and family situation.
- The foster hotline staff sets up an appointment for you to meet the cat or kitten.
- After a suitable match, you go to the Seattle Animal Shelter and fill out the official adoption paperwork and pay the required adoption fee. Adoption fees cover licensing, immunizations and medications given prior to adoption, microchipping, and spay/neuter costs. All services are nonprofit. The
fees minimally cover expenses incurred by the shelter. FosterFelines receives
no fees from this transaction.
- Depending on the arrangement with FosterFelines, you can pick up your new forever feline friend from the spay/neuter clinic or from FosterFelines within a few days (depending on surgery needs and schedule availablity) of your initial meeting/appointment.
That's it... a volunteer from the Seattle Animal Shelter will be contacting you
to schedule a time to meet your potential feline friend.
